
Jocelyn Wei

Master of Music in Cello Performance, Folkwang Hochschule, Germany
Ms. Jocelyn Wei is an accomplished cellist, active performer and one of the most sought-after instructors at First Movement Music Academy. She earned her Master of Music degree in Cello Performance from Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany.
Ms. Jocelyn has appeared in solo, chamber and concerto performances throughout Taiwan and Europe. In 2010, she completed a solo recital tour across seven European cities. During her studies and professional career, she performed chamber music with renowned Berlin Philharmonic cellist Rudolf Weinsheimer and worked with internationally acclaimed cellists Steven Isserlis, Ralph Kirshbaum, Wen-Sinn Yang and Professor Alexander Hülshoff.
Before joining FMMA, Ms. Jocelyn developed extensive teaching experience in Taiwan. From 2005 to 2012, she served as an appointed instrumental specialist for individual cello instruction in the prestigious music program at Stella Matutina Girls’ High School in Taichung. She also taught at Minsheng Elementary School in Changhua.
As an active performing musician, Ms. Jocelyn brings exceptional artistry and valuable professional insight into every lesson. She thoughtfully adapts her instruction to each student’s age, personality and learning style while emphasizing strong technique, expressive playing and musical independence.

Yu-Chen Hsieh
PIANO | CELLO
Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Born in Taiwan, Ms. Yu-Chen Hsieh is an accomplished pianist, cellist and dedicated music educator. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from National Taiwan Normal University and her Master of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Ms. Hsieh is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she received the Langford Fellowship and served as a Collaborative Piano Teaching Assistant.
An award-winning cellist and experienced educator, Ms. Hsieh has taught piano, cello, sight-singing, aural skills and music fundamentals since 2014. Her experience as both a pianist and cellist brings versatility and valuable ensemble insight to her teaching.
With a supportive and engaging approach, Ms. Hsieh helps students develop strong technical foundations, musical confidence and a lasting appreciation for music.
